“The Introduction” was one of Nav’s first ever projects. First uploaded to his SoundCloud during 2016, Nav puts a collection of his more mainstream hits such as Up, Myself and Ten Toes Down with his more “OG” tracks such as Fell In Love, Take Me Simple and Nothing On You. The now trademark dark, ambient and relentless sound of Nav’s music was first really hinted at in this project, as the songs on The Introduction are best described as raw and real.

Nav discusses his journey coming up in the rap game throughout this project. He talks about the struggles that he was dealing with before fame and, on the contrary, now with all his large amounts of money and popularity, people around him and women have “changed up” in order to get a taste of Nav’s success with him. Overall, he states that making it in the rap game has dramatically changed his lifestyle for the better.

This project is a must for anybody looking to listen to Nav’s old music, back in his “SoundCloud days”. You must know about this project to really know Nav’s music – inside and out.

Nav himself was involved in the production of all the songs on this project, in one way or another, really showing how he has been “hands on” with his music from the beginning – and that’s what has made him so big.

Nav’s “Nav”, first published in 2017, is Nav’s second project. The album contains many new hits such as Some Way – featuring The Weeknd, Sleep, Good For It, My Mind and Mariah. As heard before on his previous project, “The Introduction”, songs such as Myself, Up and Ttd (Ten Toes Down) can be spotted again in the tracklist. This is due to the fact that his previous project, was more of a mixtape rather than an album, hence allowing Nav to bring over a few of his popular songs over to his “first album” in this one.

Nav’s signature dark, ambient trap vibe can be felt again when listening to this album. Nav keeps his “OG SoundCloud” sound throughout this whole album. The track “Up” was co produced by St. Louis native, Metro Boomin, another very – very, well known producer in the rap and trap scene who is behind most hits on the top charts, hence allowing more exposure for this album, and more of a vibe with this track, thanks to Metro – his “partner in crime”. However, like The Introduction, all the songs have been produced by Nav himself, in one way or another.

Once again Nav talks about his previous struggles and more about how the rap game has treated him so far, expanding on the idea of it just “giving him money and fame”. He discusses how despite the great improvement from his previous “normal lifestyle”, many problems still arise from being at the top, such as “fake homies”, girls cheating and only wanting the fame as well as his drug abuse. During songs like “Mariah”, “Interlude” and “Ttd” he discusses how certain women are either being “played with” or “playing him”, leading to problems in his personal life as fame is conflicting with his ability to love. Women didn’t want him before fame, but now they are “all over him”, which complicates his life despite the temporary “rush” he gets when with women. He states how drugs are covering up his sadness and problems with females. However, in tracks like “Sleep” and “Nav” he goes over his reckless, savage and dominant lifestyle due to his money, fame and status, hence giving him joy and happiness as he can do “what ever he wants now”.

Overall, this album goes over a lot of Nav’s of lifestyle after being in the rap game for a fair amount of time, and should definitely be listened to by someone who wants a sequel to “The Introduction”, or anyone looking to start getting into Nav’s music in general.
